Cell-Phone Holder
We decided to test the claim that the HandStands Jelly Sticky Pad can secure a cell phone without straps, clips, magnets, or adhesives. According to the company, "Like magic, this cushy little device holds tight even when you turn corners or come to a fast stop, keeping your phone from flying off the dashboard." Sounds like a challenge to us. So we followed the simple instructions-clean the dashboard, remove the pad liner, place the pad on the dashboard-and hit the road.
As advertised, the pad securely held our cell phone in place, even under spirited cornering and hard braking. Perhaps most impressive is that the pad stuck tightly to the Ion's rough, diamond-textured dash material. The Jelly Sticky Pad is available in red, black, and blue, and retails for $8.99.
